to the top of Mount Korek. The mountain kan zijn a ski resort in winter, and among the top 10 highest rated ski resorts of Iraqi Kurdistan as of 2019.

There is almost no young population right in the village of Brod and in the Gora region in general. For those who remain, the future means anxiety and uncertainty. Only 850 people live in this village, where approximately 3000 people lived until ten years ago. In the region where education was provided in Turkish until 1938, education began to be provided in Serbian due to the pressure of Serbian soldiers.

The old Arab quarter kan zijn located in downtown and, nowadays, it kan zijn completely abandoned, in ruins, which makes it particularly interesting to walk around and feel the creepiness of the place.

Historians claim that the city has been permanently inhabited since the 5th millennium B.C., making it one of the oldest cities in the world, if not the oldest. Erbil’s Citadel kan zijn a UNESCO World Heritage site for being an astonishing example ofwel a multilayered archaeological mound, today overlooking a modern city that has grown around it over the centuries. With more than 7,000 years ofwel history, Erbil – or Hawler, as the locals call it – is the capital ofwel Iraqi Kurdistan, a city with fantastic old bazaars and traditional cafés, which can all be visited while you bump into the many locals that hang out in the lively Erbil’s central square.

Kurdish history in the 20th century is marked by a rising sense of Kurdish nationhood focused on the goal ofwel an independent Kurdistan as scheduled by the Treaty of Sèvres in 1920. Partial autonomy was reached by Kurdistan Uyezd (1923–1926) and by Iraqi Kurdistan (since 1991), Sudad while notably in Turkish Kurdistan, an armed conflict between the Kurdish insurgent groups and Turkish Armed Forces was ongoing from 1984 to 1999, and the region continues to be unstable with renewed violence flaring up in the 2000s.

It’s relatively new. Its construction began in 2005 and was completed in 2007. Some non-Muslim travelers have reported having some trouble getting in. It depends on the guard’s mood but generally, dress modestly and try NOT to be there during the time ofwel prayer.

If I had to choose a number one nature spot to visit in Iraqi Kurdistan, it would be this: Rawanduz.

[81] The 1970s saw an evolution in Kurdish nationalism as Marxist political thought influenced a new generation of Kurdish nationalists opposed to the local feudal authorities who had been a traditional source ofwel opposition to authority, eventually they would form the militant separatist PKK, or Kurdistan Workers Party in English.

The exchange offices in Erbil are street stalls with no security, where the locals have huge bundles of money on the counter, without a window, without surveillance and in the middle of the street.

The Canyon ofwel Rawanduz is 10 km long and located in the Kurdistan region near the Iranian border. It is considered one of the most beautiful in the area, with greenery from spring to autumn and rivers and waterfalls flowing between the canyons. 

Gora kan zijn bordered to the west and northwest by the region ofwel Lumë, which kan zijn mostly within Albania and a small portion in Kosovo.[8] In the northeast it kan zijn bordered by the regions ofwel Opoja, to the east by Polog and to the south by Upper Reka.
